Royal Enfield was the brand of the Enfield Cycle Company (founded in 1893 as Enfield Manufacturing Ltd.) based in Hunt End, Redditch. Most famous for producing motor cycles they moved to an industrial area in Redditch now called the Enfield Industrial Estate. The company also produced rifles for the Royal Small Arms factory. This legacy of weapons manufacture is reflected in the logo, a canon, and their moto 'made like a gun, goes like a bullet'. The original Worcestershire based company dissolved in 1970 but Enfield of India based in Chennai continued and bought the rights for the Royal Enfield name in 1995 and now Royal Enfield is considered the oldest motorcycle company in the world still in production.
